almost 1 year. A lot has changed

So...to no one's surprise, I have gone almost a full year without tending to this site.  I've always been the kid who played with the new toy for one week only to look for something else to do.  Maybe I will actually become better at this in due time...maybe not.

So the format of this whole blog thing has now changed.  I'm now the proud parent of a two month old daughter and my entire day (and middle of the night) is now devoted to this tiny human.  I (like many before me) have now crossed that unsteady rope bridge and is now a 'Family Man'.  It's a weird cocktail of unquestionable joy, anxiety, reflection, and exhaustion mixed with a dash of uncertainty.  More than anything though, it is perhaps the most amazing aspect of life.  I will have a front row seat to watching a human develop from infancy to adulthood and this human is going to use me as the basis of their upbringing.  Pretty f*ing cool.

Currently listening to...the same 4 lullabys running on loop on Emma's bouncy seat.

Spring arrives?

Finally got some to drive with the windows open.  Does this mean we've finally left this cold, snowy winter behind (and, disappointingly, only 3 days of skiing all season)?  Probably not.   Bet there's a snow squall coming up for Easter.  Either way, time to dust off the golf clubs and work on that beautiful slice of a shot I own.

Was going to collect thoughts on the current state of domestic affairs today but the nice day put me in a good place and I don't want to ruin it.

Currently listening too...New Foo Fighers record.  Outstanding!  Easily their best output since Colour and the Shape.  Perfect album to blast out of the truck with the windows down.  Not a bad song in the bunch.  One of those rare albums (especially in today's music) where there is no need to skip any tracks because they suck.  Winners all around!  Probably won't have much to write about for the next few days since this record will take up much of my listening.

10 days

10 Days since my last post.  I knew I would be bad about consistency but didn't think it would be immediate.  Oh well, sometimes you get a little side-tracked.  Maybe I'll actually bring something to the table this week.  In the meantime, off to make dinner.  Southwest Chicken stir-fry.  Yum.

Currently listening to:  The Pogues: If I Should Fall From Grace with God.  Still in a St. Patrick's Day mood I guess.  Plus a great listen when I feel like going to the mirror, smiling, and thanking may parents for forking over $3,000 for braces when I was 13.

So they've had these blog things for years now and I've only now decided to try one out and "leave my thoughts for the world to see", or at least the two people I'll mention I have a blog to.  We'll see how consistant this becomes.  I guess this might not be a bad thing for my ADD mind to deal with, even though it's kind of lame and outdated.  Seems now if you want others to know what's going on in your head your better off auditioning to make an ass of yourself on some mind-wasting MTV show or become a fool politician.  No Thanks!  Guess you can call me an old-fashioned 31 year old.
